i pad 4 for Dummies

A friend of mine will be receiving a new i pad 4 for Christmas - lucky girl :j She has wanted an i pad for ages but has no experince of apple products and is not very IT literate generally. I would like to buy her a good, simple to understand 'instruction' manual such as i pad for Dummies. However, there appears to be several variations of the i pad for Dummies book and wonder which one would be best, given that she will be getting the very latest i pad. Her main interests are photos, music, skype (or apple equivalent, e mails and web browsing if that makes a difference. Any recommendations of suitable manuals would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the new iPad (3) and its probably the easiest IT device I've ever used. Once your friend has read the online how to instructions I don't think that a dummies guide will be required.0

Like most Apple products Apple will only allow you to use what they tell you you can use (unless you jailbreak it) so from the point of view of being idiot proof they are up there amongst the best. If you want a Tablet to customise to your own personal requirements e.g. you choose what music app you want to use or ebook reader then the iPad is not for you. iPads certainly look nice but they're not very flexible!0

Thanks Nickcc - I will think of another present for her. I thought I had cracked it by deciding upon a manual but sounds as though she probably won't need one if ipads are so simple to use.
Schrodie - She has her heart set on an i pad and it is already bought and paid for. As she is not very IT literate and has never had a tablet before she will probably be best suited to something 'idiot proof' and l reckon any inflexibility of the product, for her at least , won't even be noticed :rotfl:I for one am very envious - I would love one!!!0 -

I class mysef as a 'silversurfer' and I've managed to master iPad & iPod touch without any hassle. Dislike instruction books at the best of times. Plenty of us silver surfers about, especially when many of us were using PC's when they had no hard drive just floppy discs.0
