Cat cleaning product for allergies?

I'm sure I heard somewhere that there was some kind of product or wipe which you could use on cats to reduce allergens and help reduce the chances of a reaction for people with cat allergy. Does anyone know the name of this or have you seen anything similar? I haven't been able to find anything.

Thanks!

  • Thank you, that's brilliant, will give it a go and see if it helps when we have a visitor who is allergic to cats.

My husband was allergic to cats. When I adopted him (husband, not cat), I came across Petalcleanse and it was a lifesaver (for the husband). What you are doing is wiping away the saliva off the cat's fur which is what a lot of people are allergic to. Because there will be excess fur in the house for a while, it can take a little while for the saliva covered fur to be removed from your house (via your vacuum), but after a 3-4 weeks the effects were noticeable.

After a while I kept forgetting to 'clean' the cat (you do it once a week) and husband's eyes would start running so I'd have to do it. The times between cat cleans became longer and longer, and eventually after living with the cat for about a year, husband overcame his allergy and I stopped using the Petalcleanse.
