You can also get updates direct from tom tom connect your unit to your pc and install the software and see what happens.
There are other ways to get the updates but they cant be discused on the forum.0 -

Bear in mind though tomtom updates are only free for so long as a sample..then charge around £30 or so a year...I use the pocket GPS as suggested earlier it's far cheaper & miles better than tomtom's offeringWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
The thing is that the tom tom system also give you tom tom traffic which is an awesome thing and well worth paying for.0

If you travel around the traffic pack is well worth the money far better than the option I took (bought the TMC antenna.looooooong story!) it's just I dont use them for saftey camera stuff because the data is pretty useless compared to pocket GPSWe all die. i found the traffic is not up to date. it will say theres no traffic and bang stuck in some. people have told me the TMC is better and doing the radio mod to connect it to the car radio antenna works well too0

ill give you the speed camera updates free if it's legal0

I purchased the TMC receiver a little while ago...without the modification suggested its useless here in liverpool can't pick a thing up...watch this space though tomtom announced they were offering a free of charge new improved replacement antenna for customers if you contacted them soonWe all die. I have TMC fitted as standard on my Toyota satnav & I would say it's about as reliable as the motorway matrix signs - I have absolutely no confidence in either of them, there's just far too many false alarms or lack of warning.
The data that gets fed to them must be too old most of the time; it needs to be more dynamic.0
