Contract role

Hello all a very simple question which I hope someone can answer.
I've just had my first consultation meeting about redundancy and by my reckoning will be given a months notice as of the end of this month.
I was initially taken on in my current role in August 2010 on a contract basis until February 2011. I was then offered a full time position in January 2011. My question is whether I am entitled to add the initial 6 month contract towards my current full time contract as this will then take me over 2 years employment and entitle me to statutory redundancy?
Thanks in advance of your help.

As long as there wasn't a gap in your employment between the two contracts then your continuous employment runs from August 2010. If you received updated particulars of employment in January 2011 it should have noted this fact.0 -
Thanks for the response. I spoke to ACAS today and they confirmed that yes the initial contract does count towards overall employment period. :T0

Did they check with you that there wasn't a gap of 8 days (including 2 Saturdays) between the two contracts?0
