I run a Facebook page that has complied over 400,000 fans, mostly in America, someone is offering to give me $550 for it, and he says I can keep control of the page until after he has sent me the money on PayPal, if that's the case, is there anyway he could rip me off?

Yes he could do a chargeback on PayPal0

You wouldn't be able to prove he owned it, so he could change the password, then claim you hadn't sent what he paid for, and get his money back.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Personally, I'd suggest obtaining 400,000 fans is worth more than $550.
The whole concept of 'privately selling' a facebook page via Paypal does strike me as extremely risky."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

How can I gage what a page is worth, and what would be the best way to go about selling it eBay?0

Surely you will still be the 'owner' of the page regardless if you are removed from admin, Thus, if you delete your facebook profile for any reason, the page will forever be gone.

I've had problems trying to change the name of a Facebook page, they're pretty strict. They actually wanted some US style forms of business id that don't exist in the UK. So whether the page can be changed over so easily, irrespective of payment could be tricky.
I would also say that 400,000 people are worth more than $550, a penny each is $4,000. If it's a niche type group I would have thought $10,000 would be nearer the mark. If the potential buyer can get a dollar out of 25% of them that's $100,000 so $10,000 is still a good deal. They can get revenue just from clicks, so not as crazy as it sounds..0 -

Revenue for sales tends to be nearer 2% rather than 25%, however thats still about £2000.0 -
So is it a fair price?0
