me either, never had an issueDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I tried to apply online for an argos card the other night. I was able to answer yes to all the questions of the first page, but as i got through i clicked i was a student and it then on next page asked for my employers name and there was no way past this. So i went back and clicked on houseperson, carried on through and was decined, but offered a credit card with n initial amount of £500 which i declined....
Im just concerend why this has happened.....Ive always had good credit rating, never been turned down for any financial product, i have 2 credit cards and catalogue account, no defaults,
I private rent, and my partner has a good salary
can anyone give a possible reason why?
Possibly because you're an student with no/low income and debts already outstanding, perhaps?urs sinserly,

i wondered about the student part, but on the front of the online application it asks can you answer yes to all, and homemaker/retired/student was one question.
I wondered too about the renting, BUT ONLY because there are numerous previous tennants who still receive mail despite us returning it all, so much mail to the point we opened a demand letter (it basically said on outside of envelope do not ignore) and it was for a large debt so i rang the number and that has been taken off the mailing list, but there are many more! and I have had a debt collector at the door who told me I didnt answer the description of the person he was looking for, and no wonder, she moved out, I moved in....
I have very little debt to speak of, less than £600.00 and could pay that off from my bank, but im not paying interest on any of the debt atm......0
