Another example of Ebay favoring the buyer

I sold a dvd on the 14th. I have sent a few invoices to the buyer who has still not payed or responded. I go to open a case with Ebay and they won't let me. IT states I can't open one before the 18th of November. It is now the 18th and I still can't open one.
No wonder buyers walk over sellers because Ebay make it so easy for them.:(

hubb, you need to wait exactly 4 days- so if you sold on the 14th in the evening then you can open the NPB tonight.

Hubb, the same thing happened to me. I went to open a non-payment case and got the same message. When I looked more closely, it wasn't quite 4 days.
I tried opening the case up an hour or two later and it worked perfectly!
As Soolin states, you need to wait EXACTLY four days (i.e. 4 x 24 hours) before you can open a case. Then all will work without any problem.

Same with closing it- I always forget when i opened it and start trying to close it an hour or two early. Which reminds me I have two open at the moment (my first in a couple of months and both buyers with over 500+ and buying on their selling account) and can't remember if I opened them early evening or late evening..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Still can't open a case. The annoying thing is I cannot leave this "buyer" negative feedback if he/she doesn't pay for the item. Why? Again, Ebay right behind the buyer whatever they do to abuse us sellers.0

But you can leave the buyer a non-payment strike, get 2 strikes and the options of buying are limited.
It's not the end of the world, it's not like the buyer is trying to claim they never received the goods or demanding why it isn't with them the next day after buying/winning on a Sunday/late in the evening0 -
I'm shocked at Ebay in this case.
So the 4 days they have had to open a non paid case takes literally 4 whole days before you can open a case?
Prior to this wasn't it ten or seven days? It's like they're going out of their way to be mean to sellers.
They just don't want anyone selling on the site, just buyers clicking on open spaces with no products.
At least OP finally got someone to bid on a DVD even if they didn't pay, it's a step in the right direction..0 -
It's always annoying, i've currently got 3 npb open which i can close tomorrow. Does wind me up they can get away with effectively reserving & taking your item off the market for 8 days. At which point you have to sell it all over again esspecially when it went for a good price.
One of mine is clearly a dealer which i don't mind but he/she has been buying selling over the last week too so not that they have simply not logged in.
A polite message to tell the seller that they have changed their mind would be better.0
