If anyone is worried about selling their house which is potentially close to HS2,can they let me know, and I'll buy it cheaply off them.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • My OH's mother lived a stones throw from a Eurostar line. You hardly noticed it go past due to the acoustic fencing.

If HS2 was already running, I'd go and see for myself what the noise was like. However, construction hasn't even started. I live near a commuter line into London, 2 lines about 50m away from my flat. The trains (including HS1) run slowly past the estate as it's close to the station so the noise is minimal. In the 4 years we've lived here I've been woken 3 times in the middle of the night from noise maintenance work, it's annoying as hell, but not a regular occurrence.

If I had to live 90m away from the construction of a High Speed rail line, I'd run a mile. Living next to an already established line isn't an issue in itself, but the noise from the construction would put me off in a big way.
  • Just thought i would update...we pulled out today
