I've seen a lot of people that say they open up lots of tabs a once, why is this? in what way does it make things quicker/easier?
That's a genuine question by the way-not a dig lol! I'm trying to improve my comping efficency and need all the hints and tips I can get:D
I currently go down the thread opening 1 post at a time and opening the link from there before closing it and moving on to the next one.

It saves you opening each page one at a time.

In firefox I use snap links which allows me to right click and drag down over a page of comps and they all open up at once in separate tab. I then work my through them closing each tab as I enter.

In short it just saves time opening each page individually.

I use FF for the comping, sometimes something doesn't work in FF, I use Chrome. I have my comping FB always logged in on FB, my real FB on Chrome and my husband's FB on IE. Hubby is only allowed to use IE for his needs. The rest of the browsers are mine, lol.
You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel
  • I use Chrome and like it. The only thing that annoys me is that it puts +44 in for the number instead of 0!!!

I've tried Safari, IE, Maxthon 2 and 3, Avant, but I have to say, FireFox for speed and features has to be the best IMO.
  • i use ff no problems apart from once i think when i had to enter in ie
    What goes around-comes around
  • I use firefox and also have a few add ons to help speed things up.
Snaplinks as mentioned above to open lots of tabs at once
Split Pannel which works great on the magazine comps as can have both pages open side by side.
Flashblock which is great on the itv comps as it blocks the flash movies that always play therefore speeding things up.
No squint because some sites layouts can be a bit small or too big so can make things bigger or smaller and it will remember it for that page next time you go onto it.
WOT known as web of trust which can help weed out dodgy or spammy sites.
  • I use chrome because it autofills which is useful but i also have firefox for a back up as not all comps work in all browsers

If you go into the setting of autofill, and change "01*********" to "1*********". Then, when it fills out the form, it'll change to "01*********"...if that makes sense. I used asterisks in place of real numbers, but I hope you get the idea.
