moving door jamb

previous owners had a room boarded and plastered out. However cannot get any architrave around the door frame as its less than 4 inch to the wall.
Just wondering is it costly to move the door jamb or would it be better adding timber and having a slightly smaller door?
thanks

Just fit your architrave along the top with a perpendicular edge into the new plaster work and a second piece jointed at 45 degress to the first down the open side. Don't bother with architrave down the thin edge. Its very common practice in these circumstances.
