Abbey PPI - self employed

Hi,

My parents had a number of loans with Abbey National where PPI has been paid despite the forms clearing stating my father was self-employed at the time. Over the years, new loans were taken out to the replace the original loan and we have all the paperwork with signatures, account numbers etc.

Can a claim be made through Santander or is it too late due as this is not in the last 6 years?

Many thanks.
Leni

  • Not all PPI policies automatically exclude self employment, so worth checking first.

As for the age of the loans, don't let that deter you if you're certain the PPI was missold. The further back you go, the less likely the banks are to keep records - which is where the paperwork you have might come in useful.

It's not too late, but as dr squeeze says, they might have destroyed the paperwork relating to the complaints, so unles you have your own, your complaint is dead in the water.
Try it and see, they can only say no.
