That all looks ok.
If you're satisfied all's running well, we are done.
It's important to uninstall combofix. If things aren't running well now, let me know before doing this.
Open a Run command box. (Start > Run or Windows key + R on your keyboard) and copy/paste this command in:
ComboFix /uninstall
Note the space between ComboFix and /uninstall , it needs to be there.
Click OK
Combofix will uninstall itself.
Then run adwCleaner as you did before, but this time choose the uninstall button.
That's it!0 -
Thanks very much for your help, really appreciated. I do think the system is booting up much quicker now.
I assume avast is ok to have on the system but we also have access to McAfee Family Protection through BT Infinity. Would you reciommend just running one of them?0 -
Avast? I'm assuming you installed it in compatibility mode to run it alongside Mcafee?
If not, then you should only run the one of them. Two realtime AV's aren't recommended - they will conflict.
One more thing I would comment on is the use of Vuze. Downloading torrents/P2P file sharing is a major infection vector often used by criminals as a conduit for all kinds of malware.0
