SKY+ install shambles.

I ordered SKY+ 2 weeks ago, was quoted last Wednesday as install date, engineer came and told me flat was too high up for him, and needed special team, so they came around today and told me, as my flat is waiting for new tiles on roof hes not willing to put cable in as it will be ripped up, despite me having a loft it can go through!
Also he said I need a BT master line in EVERY room where SKY is, and as I had multiroom for the free SKY+ install, and having 2 premium channels meant free multiroom and free SKY+ subscription I wanted both(I dont mind 1 box but not at extra £20 a month plus £60 instalation)
I was thinking of using this to blag SKY to either give me a credit or to just get the one box (SKY+) and blag free SKY+ subsription etc as all I really want is 1 box anyway, its just saving the £60 instalation fee and £!0 monthly SKY+ cost

You do need to have a phone line in everyroom that sky is in as they send updates etc down the line. If you dont have a line connected sky get very very snooty about it.
And if your taking up multiroom you will need to have it installed by them aswell. We only took multiroom as we wanted free sky+ deal, but now couldnt go without it in the bedroom! When I was bedridden a few weeks ago it was a lifesaver!!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
I dont mind a phone line in that room, but obviously a new line itself will cost a lot, and the room its going in is my flatmates room who doesnt watch much TV, though he does like SKY and doesnt mind sitting in living room as its metres away, I mean I ran an extension cable from back of TV in living room to his bedroom for freeview and its only 12 metres and even then only 9 or so metres are used.
Which is why I dont understand why an extension cable cant be used, there was 2 engineers, one said no problem, they just run an extension into bedroom, other said nope, I think he just wasnt bothered0 -
Phoned SKy and the problem is the multiroom, as they say their insurance merans they cant go through loft, and as my roof needs new tiles theres no point0

Good news! I pleaded my story to SKY, and they cancelled old order, put me through to sales who gave me SKY+ A Grade box(whatever that means) with free instiallation but in one room(which is all I wanted really) and no monthly SKY+ costs for £49 for the box, plus the basic 4 mix at £18 a month!0

Can I just ask what the free multiroom thing is about? We got sky + installed in january but never knew anything about multiroom being freeWeight Loss - 102lb0

I think that was a glitch normally its £10, as I tried the NT website again and its quoting Multiroom at £10 a month, I think it just glitched the SKY+ thing.
Shame you got SKY+ in Janurary, as the NT offer can be taken by existing customers and like I said you can get it for £49 with free install with multiroom, even if existing customer.0 -
When we took it out (as an existing customer) if you took out multi room which is an extra £10 a month you didnt have to pay the £10 a month sky+ fee. So we only pay an extra £10 for having multi room and sky plus
This may have changed now tho...Green and White Barmy Army!0
