No meat offers at my local!! Check your own store, but promoted as "Lunch Box Favourites"

Manor Vale Mild White Cheddar Slices 200g (10 slices) - 49p
Onions 5kg - 99p
Hula Hoops (12 pack assorted) - £1.14
Muller Corner or Light Yogurts (6 pack) - £1.79

I'll get the onions as 11lb of onions for 99p = 9p per lb - I don't mind a few "iffy" ones at that price.

Roll on the week after. lol

    Mince would be nice!!

I may get a couple of packs of the hula hoops, we don't have those very often. I've got lots of onions left forms when I bought a 5kg pack a few weeks ago. May be chopping them up soon and freezing them.
  • Ooh good timing, I have one onion left from my 5kg sack I bought back in Aug. Thanks OP x

The cheese is a good deal, it works out at just £2.45/kg. What on earth would you do with 11lb of onions....:think::think:?

I guess it might mean french onion soup for a while :D

Great Thank you Lynsey...cheese and onions for me . Have a dehydrator so will dry some of the onions and hang some in the shed. Tried in Tesco Sat for large bag of onions down to 1.49p for 5kg, glad they had none. Tesco do a similar cheese slice offer slightly dearer at £2.53kg..Gouda, Emmental and Edam.
I re-package the cheese, slice at a time and then freeze.

Chop them freeze them I bought a 5 KG bag for 10p on the reduced counter at sainsbobs back in august and spent the day peeling chopping and freezing.I also knocked on my neighbours doors to pass around my good luck.at that price I couldn't not buy them I use onions quite a bit and still have four bags in the freezer which I use for soups stews, quiches and anything that needs a bit of a 'lift'Best thing I bought this year:rotfl:

This might be handy for soups - but does this not make the freezer smell though?

We put them through the food processor to slice them, then bag and freeze them.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Keep in a container, lasts forever but doesn't, takes pressure off the freezer and onions all year round at whatever price at the time, like 10p or 99p.
And a different taste and texture when cooked.Good fried and in soups.
