Inappropriate (a bit) images on BBC news webpages

I know BBC standards have dropped recently, but i'm still sure the advertising i get down the right hand side of the news pages shouldn't be there.

It is only on BBC news pages and also only with Chrome Browser.

I have scanned with CCleaner, Malwarebytes, MSE, my standard Avast and AdAware -

Anyone know what could be causing this or what i can do to remove.

The only 'adverts' I get on RHS of BBC news are links to their own news articles and other areas within BBC website - no adverts for commercial 'product'....

Does Chrome support something like AdBlocker, for an advert-free environment?
  • It looks like the ads are trying to load on Firefox but perhaps being stopped by AdBlockPlus as the Features and Analysis box moves down and leaves a similar sized window between it and the Top Stories

The BBC site does have commercial advertising, IF your are or it thinks you are outside the UK.

Although they have cut down a lot recently....

pretty certain it's some form of adware - don't think these images of busty girls would be approved by the BBC - even now

Have a look in Add/Remove programmes to see if you have any Yontoo applications installed.

Life is short, smile while you still have teeth :D
  • I have looked for Yontoo- no sign ( thanks for trying though)
I have previously deleted cookies when running CCleaner.
Just spent a couple of hrs running spyware search and destroy - still there.

I'll download addblock - but would rather stop at source if possible
