We have just bought a new 3 bed semi. The place need doing up and we're going to be putting in an en suite into the master bedroom.
The family bathroom has bath and sink with a seperate toilet next door.
Should we knock through the wall and make it a bigger bathroom.
Only problem is that i think its going to be a lot of work when we could just get a new nice looking suite and do a nice floor etc.
We're doing the house up to sell and would live in it if we can't getthe right money for it. we're aiming it at a "normal " family to sell.
Thanks,

I've got the same kind of situation, and I'm taking out the wall. Its also the wall that houses the airing cupboard, which I'm removing because we'll be fitting a combi boiler.
Having said that, we plan living there and not doing it for profit.0 -
I think for a family do they not say a bigger bathroom is better ie. all together? Well it says that in the home magazines I get. Although personally I would prefer the 2 rooms seperate...for a growing family..you can go for a bath and still have the ensuite and toilet free.
The best thing to do would to see what folk in the area want..go to the estate agents and enquire...especially as youre doing it up to sell.
Godd luck with it and hope you get what you want! xYou may walk and you may run

I've just bought a 3-bed semi and I'm knocking the bathroom and neighbouring toilet into one. We're going to be living there and it's a personal preference to have a larger family bathroom. With kids it's definitely easier to have it in one room if you're planning on bathing a couple of kids at the same time.
One thing to consider would be that if there isn't another family toilet (en-suite doesn't count if kids/guests can't use it) you might end up with no accessible toilet if someone is using the bathroom.
If you do knock into one, you should try not to put the toilet too near the bath as there's nothing worse that toilet smell when you're trying to relax! :doh:0
