I have opened a wooden window( now really regreating that!) and now I can't get it shut ! It seem little sections of the window seem to be hitting on the actual window frame and so the window cant seem to fit inside to close ! Any suggestions as to how I can get it closed ?
It's on the second floor so I cant reach it from outside. I guess this maybe somthing to do with all the rain we have been having as the window is usually ok (only usually opened in the summer though).

It's swollen due to taking up moisture in the air, or from rain. It needs easing on the high spots in order to make it close properly, and then sealing or painting properly to stop it swelling. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Well it seems to have got bigger again as there is more now that is overlapping so no chance of getting it closed tonight !"The time is always right to do what is right"0

It must be a case where the widow has swelled up prior to you opening it, thus putting outward pressure upon the frame of the window.
One expands and the other shrinks when you released the pressure by opening the window, looks like applying heat to both components would be the only way of closing it.
Would be a good time to treat the wooden frames with a waterproof paint before closing, otherwise the problem would come back.
Or would this be an ideal time to fit a new window/frame?
