Bad digital tv signal....

Last month my tv signal was complete rubbish. Had an aerial engineer out and he said not problem with reception and so was not due to the aerial. The only solution he could think of was that the tv did not have the capacity for all the channels??
I have since bought a nice new smart Samsung and can get most channels most of the time, however, the picture still breaks up and sometimes there is no picture at all, just sound. If I change channels, sometimes the picture comes back, but this can be pretty irritating when it happens throughout the day.
After looking online wonder if this could be connected to bad signal

Is anyone else having problems, or does anyone have any further info on this.
Thx

Did your aerial engineer measure the signal strength that you were getting from your aerial?
Is your aerial very old, i.e installed pre digital terrestrial?That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
From the linked article;
"The changes are unlikely before 2018"
I assume the engineer checked, but are you certain that;
You have a decent-quality aerial
The leads from aerial to Tv are also decent, and that all connections are sound and free from water ingress
Your aerial is pointing at the right transmitter
The best people to compare notes with on TV reception are those in your own area - your neighbours. Have they had similar problems? Is your aerial pointing the same way as theirs?
No point in me confirming I had great reception last month if I'm in Scotland and you're in (say) Cornwall, and hence served by a different transmitter...0 -
I had the same problem I got the company who put the digital aerial up 2 years ago to come and check it out for me. It turns out that it needed a slight tweak (a quick turn). Now my picture is perfect, i have all the channels i should have and have only suffered once with a bad picture! He charged me £20 for the visit, but i do make a wicked cup of tea and make the right noises when we are discussing his divorce:)If you don't ask, you don't get!0
