New To Ebay

Just a quick question folks. Ive set up an ebay and paypal account and sold my first two items.

In my 'MyEbay' it says that I am awaiting payment for these two items. Beside each item there is a little egg timer saying 'Payment initiated on 14-11-2012 and is being processed by Paypal'

My Paypal still says £0.00.

My question is, am I ok in thinking that I can post these items now ? Does this confirm that the payments have been made by the buyers ?

Might be a dumb question, but I am new to this and it's got me a little confused.

Personally I'd wait until payment had been completed. It wouldn't hurt to send the buyer(s) a message telling them what's going on though.

Have you checked that the payment email addy in your ebay matches your paypal one? Don't sed anything yet until the money is in your pp acc.

    Yes they both match.

Think I will send the buyers a message.
  • Hi,

I usually get a confirmation email from PayPal when payment made, have you checked your inbox, or maybe junk mail.
  • Money should always go straight in your pp account unless they have sent as an e-chequq in which case there would be a red flag next to the transaction in your paypal account. If there is no record in the paypal account of anything like that then something has gone wrong with the payment.
Either your paypal account isn't set up properly or the emails are wrong, or possible something wrong with your buyers pp account.

They actually didn't. The one on ebay telling the buyer where to make payment to had an extra letter in which i've obviously typed by mistake.

Emailed both buyers explaining. Can't believe I've been so stupid. Not a great start to my ebay career :(

We've all done it an dunfortunately it makes things complicated.

You need to get buyers to cancel their payment, explain to them that once they have cleared funds back again you will send them a direct invoice from paypal to make a new payment. Then log into paypal, and raise an invoice for named goods (you'll need buyers email addresses) and send them off.
