How to advertise Holiday Cottage?

Hi Guys, hope you can help!

The mother in law & her partner have asked me to advertise their scottish holiday chalet on the internet. Trouble is I don't know where to start! The thought of creating a website is a little daunting for me so I was wondering if anyone new of any sites where we could advertise for a minimal cost?

I am putting it in free ads and loot but need some more suggestions!

Really appreciate any help you can give!

Thanks

Is it to sell or rent?

Perhaps you could get in touch with the tourist information centre that covers where the cottage is... if it's to rent, you might be able to give them leaflets and they can tell people looking for accommodation about it.

Even if they can't do that, they'll probably have the names of some companies that have properties in that area and they might be able to advertise it for you, although probably for a fee.

You do have to be careful about limiting the amount of money you spend on advertising. We've spent no end and a lot of it is money down the drain. We've had as much from my webpage See my homepage as from adverts in magazines or the tourist board.

You may find that you are living in an area with a better reputation for tourism than the Lincolnshire Wolds so advertising may be more productive but my experience has been the web has been time well spent and money spent on advertising has been money down the drain. However I do need to update my homepage.

  • Thanks guys! The chalet is to rent. Your webpage looks great Ted, did it cost a lot to set up and was it difficult? Ideally we would like to advertise using the internet but we are clueless at the moment!

If you send me £50 and a photo (maybe 3 if they're not too big) and all contact details, i'll put a page on my website for a year.
Can't gurantee traffic/hits/visits, but then, neither can anybody else.

Honest offer. Send me a personal message if interested. :)

I found this site a while back. It looks a quite reasonable way of getting your property listed on all the major booking engines and also travel agents systems
