Buying home insurance from existing insurer as a new customer

My house insurance (currently with Priviledge) is due to expire at the end of November. I did a comparison last night and found quite a few cheaper companies. I rang Priviledge earlier this morning to tell them not to renew it. She brought the price down but it was still more expensive than three of the quotes I've got so I told her not to renew. I've just gone onto the comparison website to compare policies of the three companies and Priviledge is up there at the top (somehow the price has dropped by £55 overnight.
What I want to know is can I buy from Priviledge as a new customer at the low price or is this against the rules?!

Not against rules but some companies pick up on it and withdraw terms once they realise.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
