Has anyone used Dettol Anti Bacterial Mould and Mildew Remover or Polycell Mould Killer or can remmend any other product or method for removing black mould from the white sealant in showers?

I agree with Dettol recommendation. Another great product is the HG Mould spray.

I use it in my shower and around some sealant on a few dg windows. Does the job nicely BUT be careful how you use it it can stain carpets, curtains etc I always open window and allow it to work.

There is one product called HG mould remove I think that a few people on mse say is good too

I have used HG mould remover plenty of times, spray on and leave overnight. Next morning the silicone is back to bright white...

    John....
  • I followed a recommendation on another forum for Domestos Grot Buster.

Our grouting and silicone seals were extremely tarnished and it worked wonders, i did need to scrub the real bad areas though!
  • Will bleach/mould removers work for entrenched mould? The base of my shower is pure black and I was anticipating cutting the silicone out and re applying a new seal, so it would be great to avoid such an awkward job.

    Many thanks.

Strip the existing silicone out - get sealant remover from B&Q, replace it, and don't let the new sealant remain wet. Dry it off or towel it down after use, keep it clean and it won't get mouldy.....
