I have debts of around 12000 credit cards loan and store cards and I am looking to make the monthly repayments more manageable and in one place as they are staggered and causing me no end of trouble. I have just gone thru a marriage breakup and have had to make some payments so am starting to fall behind. My bank wont help even thou my loan and one credit card is with them. All I need is for a consolidation loan to get my self in order and more manageable. Other lenders do not wish to help either. Ideas any one?

A debt management plan. The Citizens Advice Bureau will help set one up for you. They negotiate with your creditors and affordable monthly figure. Don't use any organisation that charges for this service as the CAB do it for free. As do Christians against Poverty."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0

This is the New Newbie post, couldn't post it with the other PM
Hi and Welcome to the Bankruptcy (BR) Board. No one here will recomend a consolidation loan whatever board you are on. First step is to make a list of all your creditors, debts and assets. Secondly and most important is contact one of the following debt charities. Please try these they don't charge and are impartial. They will go through all your options with you and if they suggest bankruptcy then come back to this board and we will help you all we can. Also if your not ‘clicking’ with one of the Debt charities do try another. We advise you to try at least two others for your own piece of mind. Your BR could be refused if you have not sought advice.
As you can see you have posted on the Bankruptcy board, but where ever you post you will get this advice. Give the numbers below a ring. They may suggest a DMP, in which case post on the Debtfree Wanabe board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76 (in fact you may find it helpful to post there anyway). They may suggest a DRO or an IVA in which case post on that board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=159 . If they do suggest bankruptcy then come back here and you will get all the help and support we can give you.
