wintering abroad-advice needed

Options
Hi there

At last I am going to be debt free and have no ties. I am 50 and although I spend a lot of time with my grown up children and grandchildren I would love to spend 3 months of the winter somewhere hot or at least warmer. Ideally I would like to teach English in Africa (as a volunter) but am willing to consider other options as long as I can get some sun! I have very little money but dont mind living plainly. Can anyone help?

While I would not want to say anything to you to dissuade you from teaching abroad during the Winter (a very excellent plan imo) I would like to point out that using Cholecalciferol Vitamin D3 during the Winter at an effective strength while remaining in the UK will almost totally avoid the problem of Seasonal Depression. bio‑tech Pharmacal Inc. supply 250 x 5000iu @ £13.75ish (depending on $<>£) one of these daily through the Winter should be sufficient to see you through.
It helps to ensure you build up your Vit D status through the Summer and as long as you can into the Autumn and start supplementing on days when it isn't practicable to lay out at midday with as much skin exposed as possible.
Not only does using this level improve you feelings of wellbeing this study shows The sunshine superstar: study reveals Vitamin D as 'wonder vitamin' it will reduce you chances of cancer and indeed colds/flu as well as many other health benefits including ensuring Peak Athletic Performance.
