Cornwall Together - Utilities - 'Better Buying Together'

I signed up to the above, which promises energy discounts due to collective purchasing, however I just reviewed my offer and am somewhat puzzled.

My quotes were all more expensive than what I currently pay. That doesn't surprise me as I fixed at a good time.

However what does surprise me is that if I bypass Cornwall Together entirely, and go straight to uSwitch then I can get better deals than I can through Cornwall Together. This seems to quite against the spirit and logic of what Cornwall Together are trying to achieve?

It seems like some suppliers are cheaper if I bypass Cornwall Together, that some suppliers arent available through Cornwall Together and other deals are exactly the same.

Is it me or does this sound like some kind of con?!

These schemes are not for everyone and they aren't really compatible with the industry process limits e.g. daily volume of customers allowed to switch.

The Which version proved to be a marketing exercise.

Not all suppliers are even interested in bidding.

So, if it works for you, great use it, if not don't. Until collective bargaining becomes more mainstream, its little threat to suppliers. The Which one wasn't in the millions so it was a drop in the ocean to the losing suppliers.
