Can I rescue these mouldy sultanas?

It's not like cheese or something where you can cut off the mould and eat food the mould hasn't touched. When you remove the mouldy bit of a sultana, I wouldn't imagine there's much left at all!Sealed Pot Challenge #239

It might not even be mould, it could be naturally occurring yeast which was present on the grapes before they were dried and became sultanas. I had a glass jar full of sultanas which popped open under the pressure of CO2 once, the glass lid flew off and damaged a brand new kitchen appliance nearby.0

I think the consensus is "bin them". It goes against the grain to waste food, but it seems the sensible thing to do.0
