In a pickle! Any advice please?
Options
Hello all.
I'm in a pickle and hoping someone can help or advise me what I can do. I hope I'm in the right place.
Currently I'm claiming JSA and have been since Nov 2010. Now I know some will instantly think jobless bum, waste of space etc but this is not the case. For 5 years up to Nov 2010 I was working as a Bus Driver. One evening I took a fall at the depot and long story short got a payout, thereafter life was made very difficult for me by the company and I left due to the injury and incessant hassle.
Anyhow, back on topic. After paying off some bill with the payout everything was just copable that was until more large debts came to light and as sods law is my boiler became faulty and stopped working. I have paid out £500 from Jan 2011 - May - 2011 trying to get it repaired but to no avail, endless excuses and parts were bought but still didn't solve any problems, not long after the so called 'gas repairer' went under so I had no route to pursue him, even legally!
I can cope with the debt, it's the lack of heating and hot water I'm having trouble with, over a years without. I can't have my boy over to sleep because the house is just to cold and because money is so tight I've resorted to using 2 (Freecycle) electric blow torches to heat my rooms I use most... great I know!
I'm really so very fedup with cold baths and cold rooms! Does anyone know of any charities or other help I could apply for to get my heating up and running, even if it was only a partial payment/grant?
Not one for moaning so I'll stop now. Any advice is much appreciated
