which laptop?

Which one thing defines how fast a laptop works? Is it it memory, hard drive, or processor? We are still trying to pick a new laptop and I'm losing the will to live. We havent got superfast broadband here and no cable or fancy choices.

your confusing laptop speed with internet connection speed. You could have the worlds fastest laptop but if your internet connection is rubbish it will be the same as a cranky old laptop.

Ok thankyou - we want to get it from Costco or John Lewis and we mainly use them for yakking on forums or looking at ebay and gumtree . Also OH wants one with a DVD reader/writer for blu ray films?

The one you were looking at is no good then, and has a relatively small screen for movies/tv

While most come with dvd drives, Bluray drives are still fairly rare in laptops, and come at a premium

http://www.johnlewis.com/231740116/Product.aspx (cheapest bluray enabled one from JL)

yakking on forums is not demanding at all, cheapest laptop you can find will handle that
