That's what I was charged in my previous share house and is the same in my house now, and already IS using MSE and the cheapest ways of paying. It's only split between two, not a larger share house.
Council tax is £47, TV license £5.85, Service charge and insurance £15, Broadband £8.13, Gas and Electricity £32.
Why are you charging them half the cost of your tv licence? It is true though that he needs his own licence to have a private tv in his room. That isn't an additional cost for you as a result of having a lodger.
I only charge my lodger for part of my loss of single person council tax discount. Also re. service charge & insurance: Your lodger gets no benefit from this. Whe should he contribute?0
