Thanks for that Kingstreet I joined around same time as you (actually!) joined, 1 sep and I couldnt work out if the price decrease applied to us or not.
I am quite happy with co-op, have found their CS very helpful in explaining my energy statement, we pay 65.06 a month between 2 and are currently £126 in debit, making a yearly spend of less than 906.72. I also got £25 for joining when I did and get 25p for every meter reading (cant remember how many your'e allowed per month but I'm a skinflint and monitor OH's usage so do it weekly!)0 -
You only get points for one meter reading a month.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I'm tied to BG on web saver 13 till Christmas, I will be changing because they are to dear, but to whom, that is the question?
any-one got any advise? I,m thinking about CO-OP no ties and clear rates.
OVO.energy, even though they have put prices up in November 2012 . they are just about the cheapest deal going . luckily I signed up at the end of October about 2 weeks before OVO price rise< thanks to Martins tip.>. it pays to swap and change .been doing it for many years . playing one company off against the others . car/house insurance .AA /RAC/Green flag .EDF/EON/BG etc.If they want my money. they have to be the most competative .:T0 -

There's no such thing as the cheapest deal going; if there was we'd all be on it!
Costs will vary depending on region and consumption level. Use a comparison site to find out which is cheapest for you and don't assume what is cheapest for you will be the cheapest for anyone else.0 -
I used a Comparison site and switched to Co-Op because savings on real usage -I entered last years Kw total and not how much I pay per month - returned £140 savings and £30 cashback on direct debit. I then helped my friend input her details and she pays quarterly when the bill arrives, never uses online. Tariff is the same rate no tweaking of the decimal digits to make you feel like you have a better deal. She will enjoy a potential 20% savings. I say potential because it is not a fixed tariff. The beauty of it is the simplicity in understanding. Then I tested the search engine again for my son who has a different usage and again it came out on top for paper billing -direct debit. So there we are three different types of customer, three different needs for method of payment and usage - One Tariff - and because the Co-Op Energy does not have a shareholder dictating the prices they are not chasing profit.
I will update in a years time if it remained a good deal.0
