Burning DVDs

I've only just started using Nero, so apologies if I'm doing something obviously wrong.
I've tried to burn a few episodes of cartoons onto a DVD with a menu so the kids can choose which one they want to see.

I'm using one of the 3D animated ones that came with Nero when it was installed.

When I put the disc in the DVD player, the menu appears as it should, but I can't get the cursor to move so they can choose which one I want to see. They simply get a no-entry sign on the screen.

After about 20 seconds or so, the first episode starts to play and then you can use skip forwar and back to move between the episodes as normal. I haven't put chapter marks in as they are only short cartoons.

Anyone any ideas? I'm using Nero version 7.

An actual DVD player or the DVD drive in your PC. Either way, I don't think there is a cursor on DVD menus, the input relies on a "left, right,up,down" approach from a remote or the keyboards cursor keys. Unless of course you've tried that, in which case I don't know. :D

Sorry - by cursor I meant the highlighted "frame" which contains the episode the kids want to watch. It happens on both the stand-alone DVD player and the computer one.

I've tried the left/right/up/down buttons on the remote for the stand-alone DVD player, but all I'm getting is the no-entry sign.

Tried that, with and without Select to confirm, but it still gives me the same no-entry sign.
