Call from "Bailiffs"

Many months ago i went to pay my parking charge by phone at a train station. Flat battery....so decided to do it 2 hrs later at work....well i forgot! My fault.
Got a ticket.
Didnt pay it as it was exorbitant, following advice here it was unenforcable.
Rec'd the usual letters...ignored.
Out of the blue my wife took a phone call from a company of Bailiffs, looking for me. It is a well known company on here, not sure if I can name them, there seems to be a reluctance by the forum to upset them now!
She of course got worried, gave them her name, and got a ref number and phone number to call. At her insistence, I called, punched in the ref as requested, but nothing happened. Never got put through to anyone. I think it was possibly a way for them to know I knew about it.
My concern is, where would they have got my number from, I have had no correspondence with them what so ever.
Second, they told her they were a company of bailiffs acting for....
Is it possible this has gone to a court somewhere and i dont know about it? I'm inclined to think its a bluff but dont want them turning up at my door when she is home with the kids etc and frightening them. The company concerned have made the newspapers and here for their bullying approach when the ticket has no foundation.
I've looked at the signs and it is def a PCC.

Has it been to court?
If not then it is not bailifs, just worthless debt collectors pretending to be bailifs. If that is the case , can you scan the letter you recieved 9washed of personal information )?0 -

.
Sounds like Newlyn's, they have been slapped on their wrist for having that exact phrase on their letters by the DVLA, is it them? Are the letters dated into November, its just I have a complaint ongoing with the DVLA on Newlyn's - thanksExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Yes.....Newlynn.
I have no letters, binned them as they came. Just this call out of the blue.0 -
Well they have been warned not to use this phrase on their letters , and as you would know if you had been taken to court they are being very naughty using these threats like they are, it's a shame that you've binned these letters., if you get any more come back here. The advice to ignore is a good one please don't communicate with them any further. But one thing concerns me is the letter mentioning anything about bylaws on it ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors.
