MIL has an internal door with a 2 lever lock which has ceased to function. The lock itself isn't used, it is a cloakroom door with a seperate privacy bolt.
Basically the bit the handle turns with the square bar iswill no longer rotate, something has broken internally.
2 lever replacements seem expensive but 3 lever seem cheaper. Can I use a 3 lever. Will the bit that goes in the door fit the same?
I am more interested in the spindle turning to release the catch and to fill the hole in the door than the lock itself.
Haven't yet trundled down to a DIY shed to compare.
TIA

You can take one handle off and pull square bar out with other handle.
At side of door unscrew lock and pull/push out.
Can usually be taken apart with screws out on lock side to examine.
If unrepairable take to DIY to get similar as they come in different standard sizes.:)The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
