Barclaycard rejecting claim

I have just received a letter from them stating they are sure and confident they followed procedure and all was explained to me regarding the PPI when I took my Barclayard out, and on that basis are rejecting my claim.
I dont believe this is the case.
I did'nt know I had it until the monthy statement format became more transparent, rang up, and was told no PPI was on my Barclaycard, but WAS on my old Egg card, I put a claim in for that and was paid out with no issues.
Further phone calls eventually got me the admittance it was being charged, clearly it was - it was on my statement!
This latest claim has seen me getting stroppy letters demanding more information on my employment status and for forms which they were already in possession of, and 8pm on a Saturday evening phone calls, also asking for more clarification on my employment.
Finally, 10 days after their own dead-line they deigned to inform me my claim was being rejected, with no further communication considered.
From the information they sent me on request concerning my Barclaycard, I cannot find any reference what-soever to PPI, I have no paperwork at all regarding its existence and feel I am being fobbed off in the hope I will just give up and accept their decision.
So, do I write to them again asking for further clarification on their claims of transparency at the alleged time of purchase, or just go to the Ombudsman?

Thanks, I just dont want to screw it up by doing the wrong thing that they can throw back at me.
    I will contact the ombudsman.
  • You would have received a Final Response approx 8 weeks after you first complained - once you have this and this will give details as to why Barclaycard have rejected your complaint - once you receive the final response you then have 6 months, from the date of the final response to put your case to the FOS.
