Quick question.
Mr X has had his home on the market for a while. It has not sold and there is no consent to let on the mortgage for his property.
He see's another property for sale that he would like to buy.
Can Mr X legally put in an offer for said property before selling his own?

Of course you can legally put in an offer. However many sellers won't stop marketing their property until they receive an offer from someone who is procedable, ie someone who doesn't need to sell their place or has a buyer.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

He can. But frankly, it's a complete waste of time.
The vendor may accept in principle, subject to the offerer's property being sold, but if someone comes along in a position to proceed next week, Mr X's offer is history.I am a mortgage broker.
