E-Petition to Regulate Motor Insurers?

my original post was true. But then again it was also back in 1999, i bought a car, think it was registered it my name, maybe it was registered in my dads not sure. But I did phone up and ask about insurance in my name, thinking I was going to pay around £300 at that time, nope turned out £1 more than when i phoned them up the last time when i was a learner. anyway he passed away in october of 1999 and the insurance advisor came out to us after we phoned him and HE did the paper work.
we told him my mum couldnt drive, but i could, he transfered over the insurance from my dads name to my mums name, and put me down as MAIN Driver.
doesnt really matter now, I got my own insurance once we went 3 years with no car, and lost all the NCD my mum had.
Should have done it sooner, after all insurance prices have sure rocketed in the last few years. after paying £273 which rose to £527 or 93% increase for no apparent reason. No accidents, no claims, and according to them nothing to do with me. this was when all the adverts said there was a 30% increase in insurance.0 -
Would it be an idea to start an e-petition to demand legislation to bring insurance companies 'into-line'? :j
Would anyone bother to sign such a petition? :T
No and No. I'll explain why.
It took MONTHS for FairFuelUK to get the required 100K signatures about fuel prices. Fuel prices are everyones favourite moan and groan, everyone hates them being so high but so few people could be bothered to sign the petition in a short amount of time that it took over 3 months to get 100k signatures. Millions of motorists and only 100K could just about be bothered to sign in several months and it's their favourite issue! You will be wasting your time on the insurance petition - many people hate them but they are all too lazy to actually do anything about it. It's the british way - put up with the tripe handed down to us and accept that nothing will change. This isn't america or france, we don't protest

How long do you think it will take this bloke to repay his "loan"?Ionkontrol wrote: »Considering all they do at best is loan money, I should hope so.
You pay them premiums, they very occasionally lend you some money back when you make a claim, and you repay the loan with interest by increased premiums for the next ≥5 years.
Scum sucking pigs.
(Not that he will be repaying it as he was banned from driving so won;t be taking out a policy any time soon).0 -

If they load his premiums to £1m a year, it will only take twenty three years.0
