Hello,

I'm 20 and we have bought our first home, it was a reposession, so a little unsure how i go about getting the gas and electric working again AND be moneysavvy!!

Would be really greatful if somebody could please help me

Congrats on buying your first home.

You can find out who the existing supplier is by doing the following:

For electricity phone the relevant MPAS for your area, the numbers are here - http://www.uswitch.com/gas-electricity/guides/who-supplies-my-electricity-and-gas/ and this also has a number for the gas meter helpline.

They should be able to assist and say who the last supplier was, you should be able to then phone them up and close any account if required.

You may be able to just phone your preferred company and open a new account and start from there.

Make sure you take the readings asap!
