Tesco Clubcard Credit Card: Incompetence of the highest order

I've had a tesco credit card with attached clubcard for some time now. It's been great - use the card when I shop or fuel up and I get loads of points to spend on rewards.
Back in January my wife and I seperated so I rang the clubcard people and asked them to seperate our two clubcard accounts. They told me that I would have to write in to have this done so I promptly wrote them a letter. I received a letter back shortly after to confirm that the account seperation would be done.
Several weeks later I logged in to find that the accounts hadn't been seperated and in fact my wife had spent all of the club card points that I'd earnt refurnishing the house after she'd left.
I rang clubcard who apologised and assured me that the account seperation would be carried out and that they'd send me replacement vouchers in place of the ones my wife spent.
The vouchers never arrived and the accounts still weren't seperated.
I've spoken to them dozens of times since then and have been told repeatedly that the accounts would be seperated but they never have been. I've been told on many occasions that I need to speak to the credit card people (not true) to sort it out. In the meantime my wife has spent any points that I've earnt on the card.
Things came to a head this week when I spoke to someone who seemed to actually understand the problem and how to fix it. The day after speaking to him I tried to login online to see if he'd finally (10 months!!) sorted the issue only to find that I could no longer access my account without verifying my details which it said I had wrong. Fairly sure I know my own name, address and clubcard number...
Turns out he has assigned the clubcard to my now ex-wife and tesco clubcard will no longer speak to me regarding the clubcard because it isn't mine. They did helpfully recommend that I speak to the credit card people again to see if they could fix the issue. Again.
So, I spoke to the credit card people and of course the club card account has nothing to do with them. They were actually very helpful and rang the clubcard people to ask them to put the clubcard back in my name since they could see on their system that it is mine. The clubcard people refused to do so and instead told the credit card person that my only course of action now is to write in a letter of complaint and maybe then someone would resolve the issue for me.
SO, I've now cancelled my tesco credit card. Apparently in 8 months time I can apply for a new one and get a new clubcard attached to it. I figure that 8 months seems like a pretty good turn around time since in the last 10 months tesco clubcard have only been able to make the situation worse.
I find it hilarious that I can go through the complicated procedure of getting divorced in less time than tesco clubcard can seperate two clubcard accounts....

Club card in who's name ?
    Credit card in who's name?

I would just have got a new clubcard, spent all the points on the old one. Then get the link of the credit card updated to the new club card.
