The provider is upping standard landline line rental from £13.90 to £14.99 from 1 February.
Its standalone broadband and TV packages will also rise, as well some of its 'collection' packages.
Other than the price of standard line rental, no other call costs are rising.

Note VM have said in this statement that that they will allow contracts to be cancelled subject to T and C. http://my.virginmedia.com/customer-n...s-to-save.html
Scroll down to bottom see
"For terms and conditions or other legal stuff, just click here.
If you do not wish to be bound by these changes you can cancel your contract with us without penalty. The process to be followed is set out in our terms and conditions at virginmedia.com/legalstuff "0 -
The clever thing to do is call up and take out their 12 month line rental saver as long as they are still honoring the current price for the 12 months...0

They are - as I queried this. I was told the renewal cost (once the plan expired) would be higher.0

Can we do anything about slower speeds? I have noticed since renegotiating my contract & going wireless (this co-incided with me changing mobile provider from T-mobile to them as well) that broadband is running slow at all the peak times! Who knows how fast they are running when I am asleep or at work but really I don't care - can we enforce the speeds we were promised or go else at no additional cost?0

You've already asked this question on your other post.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

And you will also know the speeds are 'Up to' - so no issues there. Further, if you use Wireless, the speeds WILL be slower than a direct connection. If you want the fastest, use a CAT 5 cable only.0

had been with virgin (ntl) for 8 years until the beginning of this year when all of a sudden the service i was getting went belly up. The landline number suddenly kept changing then BB was cancelled cos i was moving according to Virgin, then all sorted and a virgin engineer turns up to instal TIVO which i already had then the service was stopped because i had stopped the Direct Debit because i was 4 months in credit because they kept taking out wrong amounts. Im so glad i decided in April to tell them where to go and even now in dispute with them as they say i owe them money.0
