:confused::confused::confused:
Since uploading a google update everything seems very slow and keeps freezing which I am finding very frustrating. Does anyone have any idea whether this might be due to this update and if so is it safe to uninstall them.? Sorry to be so vague but I know very little about computers so any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Thankyou

Sue

    What exactly was updated? Do you have Windows XP? Can you go back to a restore point previous to the installation of the update?

    How did you upload a google update - do you mean download and installed? Is is a toolbar update for IE? Have you rebooted after the update? I would say it's safe to remove it - it's not a core program.

    i had this problem a few weeks ago, it was the google toolbar that was interfereing with summat, just go to add/remove programs and uninstall the toolbar, if you are running Xp and had all the updates from microsoft then you should have a built in pop up blocker(which was about the only thing the toolber was usefull for).

    Hello Thanks for the replies, I had a pop up from the bottom right hand corner of the computer saying google update and went along with it as I thought it might be to do with security.

    I installed as per instructions so maybe it was downloaded?? I really am a beginner with the internet!!

    The prorams were;-
    Gallery player images, Google desk top search, Google toolbar for internet express, Norton security scan, picasa, spyware doctor and skype I have uninstalled skype as I do not need that at the moment.

    I have absolutely no idea what Picassa is perhaps I should not be allowed on the internet with such ignorance.

    Do you really need the google toolbar and desktop search? If you don't use them, then uninstall them all. Picasa is a photo organiser. If you didn't know what it was you may as well uninstall it as well. If you don't use any of google's software there's no need to be installing any of their software or updates..

    Picasa is a photo editing program.

    I would uninstal all of that except Skype as it's a handy chat program.

    Thanks every one I have uninstalled all of the update but am still having the same problem, so maybe it was a coincidence that it started then. It is really frustrating when nothing happens then I get the egg timer and what feels like minutes later the command is "taken up"

    If anyone has further suggestions (in very simple terms please) I will be more than happy to try.

    Thanks again

    Have you tried going back to a restore point before the problem occurred?
