Cerabal Palsy Allowance

Yo,

So I have cerabal palsy, but I have never claimed benefits. I do need special insoles in my shoes and I go to gym loads to help it, but then again I am in the mind frame that I am not disabled.

Do you think I should claim benefits?

    Benefits for what?

Do you work, do you earn any money, do you live with parents, what is your age. How do you support yourself.

If insoles to help with you walking, I wouldnt particularly brand you as disabled but you have so few details in yur post that no one could give you a meaning ful answe.

Benefits are paid due to your care and mobility needs, not because of a particular medical condition. It is impossible to tell, from what you have said, whether you might be able to claim anything - but you have not said anyting that makes me think you could.

The following post makes me doubt the OP would be valid for ESA/ DLA etc:
Things that I have done today.

    1. Went to gym at Half 6 this morning.
    2. Made banana bread.
    3. Had a Suite fitted for my sports awards.
    4. Booked a Holiday.
    5. Washing done and tumble-dried.
    6. Now to go out for dinner

Do you pay for your insoles or do you receive them from the NHS?

It could be the case he is aided-and supported-through some of these tasks.

From reading the op's other post they cycle to work and back every day 15km and has a budget of £1000 for a new bike....maybe thats what they want the money for?
  • I can understand why the O/P needs new special insoles, s/he would find them very andy cycling 15km each day is ard work.

Cycling can be considerably easier than walking, for some people.
The balance issues are different, loading on the feet is different, ...
Some people are legitimately able to claim DLA - HRM - due to being unable or virtually unable to walk, but being able to cycle fine.

The OP seems perhaps unlikely to qualify, unless the special insoles do not cure 'significant discomfort' when walking.
  • rogerblack .. .. very andy
