We are preparing our property for selling in the Spring and have been interested to read on the Forum about 'On-Line' Estate Agents.
Considering the present state of the property market, is this a good time to sell 'On-Line'?
Does anyone have experiences to share about recent sales please?
Kind regards
Bob

It's worth running an advanced search, there have been several threads on this in recent weeks/ months.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

The present state of the property market may have changed by next Spring. It may be better, it may be worse. Who knows?
The decision on whether or not to use an online agent isn't necessarily affected by the state of the market. There's many other factors to be considered first.
But yes, search the forum for the recent similar threads first....
You do realise, of course, that it's not just the 'online agents' that have a web presence, an online presence - that the regular high street agents sell via this channel as well?0 -
There are lots of posts on here about online agents. The big plus is that there is an awful lot of money to be saved by using one if you don't mind doing your own viewings.Je suis sabot...0

Many thanks Hoof Hearted for your input. My wife would really enjoy taking care of all the viewings she has the ability to control the situation and say just enough.
We will be going through as many of the posts on this site as we can, we may have a problem choosing the best On-Line agency as they all seem to offer a good service, but time will tell as we make our way around, today is just the start.
It is our aim to sell before we buy our next property.
Kind regards

I viewed a house this week where the vender conducted the viewing (their choice). As it happens, immediately before that I viewed another house marketed by the same EA. The first viewing lasted twenty minutes, whereas with the second I was there for an hour and a quarter! The seller was so informative about the house, telling me about the history, improvements they'd made, options they'd considered and reasons why they were moving-plus they could answer my questions. Actually, I don't really know why they are employing the agent! On the occasions when the vender has shown me around I feel I learned a lot more about the house, although with an agent its much, much easier to give negative feedback at the time. Good luck, it's certainly worth trying an online agent at first as long as you don't risk too much money up front.0

A very good point because on reflection we found our present property On-Line and the Estate Agent only acted as a link between ourselves and the vendor. The area that we are interested in for our next property is not within easy reach of the EA to personally visit, so we are looking at RightMove at properties and then GoogleEarth to look around the area.

A very good and interesting point made, its the knack of knowing how much information to give without giving too much.

Mervyn King thinks he does! It ain't good.
Well, you did ask! :rotfl:
Serious point: 'Now' is always a good time to buy or sell, if your expectations are realistic.0 -

We are looking at a few of the On-Line agents and we think that it could be well worth the investment. There are quite a few of them offering their varied services, its finding the one that we feel suits our needs best.
We are at the moment looking at finding a realistic asking price, only one property has sold in our Post-Code this year so not much to go on at the moment.
