Checking Credit Report for PPI

I apologise if this is in the wrong forum but wanted to ask a question, i am applying for my credit report but it doesn't ask for addresses as far back as i need to go. I basically want to get my mortgage details for a house I sold in 2004 as I know I had PPI on it but can't find any paperwork on in order to claim(I can't even remember mortgage company).
The problem I'm having is credit reports don't ask for address details that far back so how do I find the information please?
thanks in advance for your help

Mortgages very often dont appear on credit reports anyway.
Also, the lender may not be the one you complain to. If you used a broker/adviser then you complain to them (although most dont have to consider complaints on pre 2005 cases).
Finally, MPPI is considered good advice and the one PPI worth having. It has a lower success rate on complaints compared to other types of PPI as it does not suffer the same range of issues.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). thank you dunstonh, i won't worry about the PPI on that then as like you say pre 2005 and seems to be seen as good advice to take out. Thank you very much
