A question about packaging

Just a couple of questions from a newbie to ebaying I am trying to declutter my house!!!I have alot of clothes kids and mine but how is best to package them? Does anyone know where to get hold of the sort of bags that Next uses to deliver their stuff in? Also does anyone know how to put a visitor counter in without having to go back in after posting and editing?
Thanks very much and Happy ebaying!!!:D

  • If you look on eBay under Business, Office & Industrial> Packing & Posting Supplies> Mailing Bags, Pouches & Sacks, you'll find plenty of plastic mailing packets which are ideal for clothes. I buy mine on eBay.
  • this seller on ebay was recommended on this forum some time ago and found them to be really good value

Edit: THIS was the thread with good recommendations

    Hi

For selling clothes i buy the huge freezer bags from tesco, they're not very expensive and seal well.

I use Ronnie's Mailbags http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Hazel-Valley-Packaging_W0QQsspagenameZL2QQtZkm on Ebay, they do a nice pack of mixed size bags going from teeny ones to big ones, which might be useful if you're selling anything from socks to coats! But they are all much of a muchness I imagine.

You can of course buy them in the post office, but they're at LEAST 50p a pop !

  • Why not just use the stronger good quality type carrier bags and parcel tape. I save these for such circumstances and they do the job perfectly fine. (The hidden price of buying packaging all adds up)

I buy the 8x11 inch or 9x12 inch mailers from Ebay at about £5 for 50 (depending on which seller is doing the best offer) and find they are an ideal size for most clothing items (obviously not coats etc). A bargain at 10p each and they look alot more professional than reused carrier bags. If something is quite delicate (silk items etc) I seal them in a zip lock bag (also bought from Ebay) before putting them in the mailer, just for added protection.

(no offence intended jasmineswhiskers....just my own personal opinion)

Go to the Post Office and ask for some 'Special Delivery' bags...they come in various sizes, and they will give you them for nothing.
Turn them inside out and you're away...

Well if you are a business then it's expected but if you are just a private individual selling some 'stuff' then personally the item well wrapped and protected adequately is more important to me (yes I do use bubble wrap). This is how I send my items and I am more than happy to receive items this way too.
