I have just connected my Epson Stylus 3 in 1 to my laptop which is on Windows 7. Despite me downloading the drivers from the Epson website. There was only the Vista driver, which the website told me to download if there was no W7 option.
My parents have a laptop and a desktop both on W7, using older Epson printers and they work:mad::mad::mad:
Why is this?
Everytime I get a new computer, I am having to spend more money on a printer as my existing printers never supported the Windows version on the new computer. I had to buy a new printer from W2000 - XP then XP - Vista. Now its Vista - W7!

have you tried just plugging it in to see if win7 detects and already has the driver built in?
did you download the 32bit (x86) driver when in fact your win7 pc is 64bit?
what model is it?

When I plugged the USB cable into my laptop, it tried to download the drivers and failed. So I downloaded the driver for the 64bit and didn't work either. My model is the SX2150 -
Look for the inbox driver, the printer should be off until the installer prompts for it to be turned on.

The scan driver here should work

I've got an older epson sx200 and i had no problems installing the drivers for my printer.
didnt download any.
install windows 7, clicked on add printer, followed instructions,
turn on printer and do not connect usb lead until told
clicked next, followed by next, then connect usb lead, finished.
Windows 7 64bit.
under printing prefs i got a version 6.63 which is says is the latest version.
funny, epson status 3 is telling me printer is not ready. Yet when i press the start button it scans and prints fine. fixed installed 6.64 drivers.
note: the latest driver for your printer is 6.61
