Sorry, in my exictement, I mis-typed "Skype". It's not the first time they've done this, but in the past it's been on an individual basis to individual customers - and what we're talkig about here isn't just "Skype" (which is normally "free" anyway) but what used to be called "Skype-out"- the ability to call ANY phone number from your computer, whether the call's recipient has a computer or not.My wife used it a couple of years back to place her usual evening phone call to her Mum while we were in Hong Kong, Normally, this works like a PAYG mobile phone - you buy minutes in advance. THIS deal is for unlimited use for a month, at no charge.

Any number in the UK providing that it's not a mobile.

You also have to sign up to their unlimited calls package £8.49 per month and then cancel if you no longer want the service.
They are probably doing this knowing that a fair percentage of the people signing up for it will forget to cancel their subscription & those that keep it going will not use the Skype to call enough landlines to exceed their £8.49 monthly payment.
