Does this seem likely?

A house I offered on a few months ago came back on the market this week. I thought the EA would have contacted me but they didn't so I contacted them to be told that the house is being marketed but no viewings are taking place as it has already been sold to a new buyer. And that they are making a shortlist of interested people in case it falls through.

Now I know when I offered they told me there was one other person offering, the person it was sold to, so where this new buyer has come from I do not know.

I also happen to know someone who has had an experience with this particular agent where they were given the impression they give preference to buyers selling a property through them, perhaps that is the case here?

Does it seem likely that they are not having viewings and if it has already sold again, why not mark it as under offer, like before?

I would really like to put a note through their door as I'm getting the impression the EA's are only doing what's right for themselves but they are a lovely elderly couple so wouldn't want to cause them any stress :(

So it turned into a bit of a rant, who said house buying was stressful lol

My question was, is it likely that they would leave it as 'for sale' if it is already under offer again?

If the seller had a bad experience with a previous buyer they might leave it on the market till Exchange.

Or it might be a repo.

Or the current buyer might be in a long chain.

Or showing signs of money problems.

    or... or....

Nothing wrong with a note through the door - what can you lose?
