Help Please windows 8 e-mail virgin

Im with virgin and just put windows 8 on computer.They say it wont work with outlook as it made not to.The only way i can get them at the moment is going to there website.They have recommended Thunderbird never hear of it..Does anyone use it or know anything about it Please.

Or better still get yourself an Gmail account, and be independent of your ISP.
Thunderbird is a Mozilla product, the same folks who produce Firefox. You can get it here.

Iv only ever used outllook express and cant use it now as windows 8 wont let me.

Which is why I made the alternative suggestions. You could also download and try Windows Live Mail, which is what they replaced Outlook Express with.

Hi just to let you know .I sighed up to windows live mail(microsoft) .The First email they send asks you if you want to add other acoounts so tryed it and it worked thank you very much for you help
