Yep, that's what I thought. A one off investment of £4 as opposed to £4 if not more for lunch several times each week.
Well, it wasn't a no spend day today as I forgot we needed milk so I'm going to try again tomorrow.
The next mortgage payment goes out tomorrow so will be able to post a new total, can't wait! I can't believe how many hours I spend fiddling around with my mortgage spreadsheetMortgage currently £89,663

Had a night out at the circus with a friend last night. It was great fun and best of all we had free tickets so only needed to buy refreshments.
I had a lovely weekend too. Met a friend for breakfast on Saturday then we traipsed the charity shops and picked up a few bargains. My buy of the day was a lovely Monsoon dress for £1Then had mum round for dinner on Sunday and cooked some beef which had been sat in the freezer for a while.
I'm going to try really hard to have 2 NSDs this week. I totally failed last week so want to have an achievable target. I don't think there's anything to buy today so fingers crossed I can keep myself out of the shops! Shouldn't be too hard as I'm at work till about 5 then coming home and will endeavour to put a couple of hours in on my second job as I've only done about 4 hours so far this month.Mortgage currently £89,663

I managed a NSD yestarday so one down one to go before the end of the week. Sadly I need to stock up on fruit and bread today but will try again tomorrow.
Didn't end up doing any of my second job last night as I ended up babysitting (how come that happens so often?) Never mind I just managed half an hour of work and will fit some more in later when I get home from the proper job.
I just added a daily interest column to my new mortgage spreadsheet and it now stands at £11.48.Mortgage currently £89,663

Thanks EchoDelta, you'e right she's not tiny any more, I can't believe how she is growing.
So stocked up on fresh fruit, bread and milk for the rest of the week at a cost of £13. I refuse to buy any more groceries till Saturday!
I was hoping for a NSD tomorrow but had a phone call from my friends partner who has invited us bowling to celebrate my friends birthday. Still, it will be fun and shouldn't be too expensive.
The more I play with my spreadsheets the more I realise how much better it would be if we concentrate on the loan before the mortgage. It is a horrendous 8.70% apr  The problem is that we can only overpay a minimum of 10% of the total remaining balance which at the moment is £68,800. I'm just not convinced that we wouldn't end up using the money for other things. I suppose the problem is that we don't have much in savings so nothing to fall back on when things go wrong. In comparison, we can overpay as little or much as we want to the mortgage so wouldn't be tempted to dip into it. Hmm decisions......Mortgage currently £89,663

I'm seriously bad at having NSDs! There always seems to be something to buy. This is most likely to be due to poor planning when I do my grocery shop so will pay proper attention to my shopping list this week!
The car is also back in the garage being fixed again. That'll be another £300 or so but thankfully won't come out of the household budget.
Despite all of that, we're still on target to make an overpayment of £180 this month. We decided that having the money in savings then paying off chunks of the loan would make it too easy to spend on other things so we're now sticking to the original plan of making small but regular mortgage ops.Mortgage currently £89,663
