On the down side, my car has gone wrong so it's in the garage this Friday. I'm just hoping the engine warranty will cover the problem, which is that it keeps overheating.Mortgage currently £89,663

Thanks Sweetdaisy. I'm enjoying the challenge already. Actually we've been watching the pennies for so long now that I don't know what I'll do with myself once we are mortgage free - get a bigger mortgage I expect :rotfl:
Anyhow, I was pleased with myself yesterday as I managed to pop out in my lunchbreak and get MILs xmas pressie from Bo0ts. Spent just over £50 and got £12 of advantage card points so very happy as I need new makeup but haven't been able to justify spending the money.
I'm almost halfway through the Xmas shopping now so plan to do a bit more this weekend. Trouble is I can't decide what to buy people. Will have to put my thinking cap on.Mortgage currently £89,663

Well my plans for Christmas shopping never materialised. However I finally got round to making the xmas pud which is currently bubbling away nicely in the steamer and making me feel verrry hungry.
DDs baby is due this week so we're all on tenterhooks at the moment. I must admit I feel a bit out of practice with the whole baby thing but I'm sure it will all come flooding back when she arrives. I'm far more nervous than DD who just can't wait to get on with it!
I'm starting a new job in January which is paying me a little bit more than my current job and is only about 8 miles from home (whereas now I spend between 3-4 hours per day commuting). Not only will I gain financially but it also means I will be around more for DD and babyOn the financial side of things I should be about £150-200 per month better off so should be in a good position to make bigger MOPs than I had thought - don't you just love it when a plan comes together

Great news all roundA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Great news all round
Thanks gallygirl, yes everything seems to be heading in the right direction at the mo. A few years ago when we were deep in debt and OH was facing bankruptcy it was hard to believe we would ever get out of it, let alone be talking of mortgage freedom!Mortgage currently £89,663

Well it's been a bit of a day! DD woke me up at 4 o'clock this morning vomiting and with a sore tummy. She couldn't keep anything down at all for a few hours which was worrying. The midwife says there has been a bug doing the rounds and that's the likely cause - bit scary as she's almost due, but things seem to have settled a bit now and at present she is having a sleep.
Due to this I took the day off work and have been busy baking cheesy monkey bread, which is proving as I speak - should be really yummy but I've not made it before so fingers crossed it comes out ok.
My car is still in the garage as it keeps overheating but not too worried as I can borrow DDs for now, and the repair costs should be covered by the warranty.Mortgage currently £89,663

Not too much to report at the moment. DD is still poorly despite several hospital and GP visits, and no sign of baby yet!
My car is still in the garage so it must have been a bigger problem than they initially thought. Think I'll give it till Friday then give them a ring.
I managed to buy another couple of Christmas presents today so slowly getting there. I found the perfect present for my friends hubby - a book called 50 sheds of grey, which is full of whitty anecdotes about..yes you guessed it..sheds! He should appreciate it as my friend is a big fan of the original
Decembers mortgage payment goes out on Friday which will take us to just a few pounds over £99,000 :j I don't think we will be able to save much towards OPs this month with Christmas getting in the wayMortgage currently £89,663
